If an L-88 car was missing the motor is there any way to tell if it is a real L-88?

Re: 1969 L-88 question
Sure, trace the owner history of the car back to the original purchaser & delivering dealership. Anything else (doing a forensic examination of the car's configuration today) is dubious at best....just about everything can be 'faked' to make a car appear to be a real McCoy L88.- Top

Re: 1969 L-88 question
With out actual confirmed documentation no one thing can tell you if it is a real L88. This is true even if you have the engine.
Some of the things that I would look for are:
L88 hood.
Unique Aluminum radiator (if manual transmission)
Modified core support
Dual pin J56 brakes
No radio
Single fuel line
403 bell housing
must have TI ignition
HD 7 spring suspension in rear
6500 RPM red line on tac
