Vendor for Birdcage Replacement Sections?

Hi Guys,

I just got down to the lower windshield frame portion of the birdcage and found it has quite a bit of rust. The door pillar and lower sections look fine. Whom would you folks recommend? I saw the parts on zip but $1300 for a few pieces of stamped and bent steel seems a bit excessive.

Hi Drew. The good news is that these windshield surround pieces are being reproduced and sold by the major parts vendors (Corvette Central and Paragon to name just two). You'll be able to find what you need. The bad news is those parts are expensive. Unless you can find a birdcage from an original car, you may not have much choice but to buck up and buy the parts from the parts vendors.

I believe that CSC Reproductions and Caledonia Corvettes are the two vendors who actually make the repair sections, and they are sold by others. You can check out CSC's parts on their web site. Caledonia has a catalog, but no web site.

Got it. Thanks, Guys...

It looks like 1300 for the bottom and sides (parts), 1000 for the labor to debond and rebond, and 600 for welding and cleanup of the birdcage.

Sound about right?
