The wiper motor on my 65 coupe is not working. I have removed it from the car and need advice on a good repair station that members can recommend. Thanks in advance.

Re: wi[per Motor Repair
Bill,
Run a 12 volt wire to the center post on the three wire connector.
Run a ground to the case.
Then run a ground to the inner most terminal on the wiper motor. When you do this it should run on high speed. Next jump this same ground wire leaving it connected to the outer most terminal on the three wire connector. The motor should run on low speed.
If the motor still is not working, then remove the outer cover for the washer pump and look at the main gear. This gear is probably running on lubrication that is over thirty years old and they tend to gum up. If you try cleaning the old lube out of the motor and then put some new in there it just may work again.
Here is a picture that may help you. This test will work on every motor from 1963-1967 and 1969-1982.

Re: wi[per Motor Repair
Great, I hope it works.
Check for that old yellowish color grease in the big gear. This can and will bind up the motor if it gets to hard. Clean it out with some Brake Dry and wait an hour or so for the fumes to clear out before you try to power it up. I did this on a 58-62 motor and did not wait for the fumes to fly away, sure enough it caught fire!
Once you have the old lube cleaned out put some new in there.
If it still won't work, post again and tell me what you hear or see!

On a 63 thru 67 you run the ground to the OUTER most terminal to make it run in high speed. Also grounding the INNER most terminal at the same time will make it run in low speed.
You forgot the terminal on the 63-67 motor is 90 degrees to the body of the motor.

Re: wi[per Motor Repair
Yes Joe, you're correct!
I did this on the fly out of my head and medicated. When both 1 - 3 are grounded it still should run. I screwed up something in my spine again on Friday.I'll stop posting, this would be best at the moment.

Re: wi[per Motor Repair
Researching the wiper motor I just found out that a 65 wiper motor is P/N 5044602. The motor removed from my 65 coupe is P/N 5044422. Can anyone tell me what year Corvette this is for. I'm thinking that since I'll never have the car judged for NCRS it might be less costly to have this motor rebuilt. Any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks for all the help.- Top
