Re: head ligt washers
Vincent,
My early 71 also has the workings (including the lines which end down at the front. I can't remember what publication I read that stated they were discontinued around the time of our vehicles assembly. You will find vehicles of this period with different degrees of the system even though the actual washers are omitted. Mike- Top

Re: head ligt washers
Hi Vincent,
The 70-72 Judging Guide indicates that very early 71's ( until about #3600) stlll had the washers.
My 71, #6589, January built car, has the 5-port pump, the washer hoses in the vacuum hose bundle, and the nozzle holes in the headlight bezels.
The hoses were cut short near the vacuum storage tank and just before the core support.
Regards,

Re: head ligt washers
Hoses being cut short continued in production for a LONG time... My April build car has short, cut off, sections of the prior HL washer tubes along the LH inner fender bundle.
Early cars with the residual 1970 5-port pump are well known. In '71, they used up on-hand inventory and simply 'blinded' the HL washer ports by connecting the two squirter nipples together with a short segment of hose.
Some early '71 cars have various residuals of the HL washer system on the headlights including one or both HL bezels being drilled for the washer nozzles with a few cars reported as actually having washer nozzels installed but not hooked up.- Top
