    wiper vacuum canister plug

I bought a replacement plug for the wiper vacuum canister since the original was very hard from age. Knowing this is sometimes used to open the lid manually for maintenance I thought I should have a good soft plug that seals well. The part I received from Ecklers is too small in diameter and barely stays in position. It's so loose I'm afraid it might fall out from vibration. I don't think it could hold a seal either. Is there a better source?
    Thanks,
    Greg

What did Ecklers say about the part not fitting?

I had to leave a message with their tech support, but I am guessing there isn't much they can do . Their part is made for a 3/4 in. hole, and the actuator is more like 7/8 in.

I'm hoping someone can point me to a correct sized plug.

Well they called back and say all their actuators have 3/4 in. hole. Suggested I go to NAPA and get a plug for 7/8 and it should look the same.

Anyone out there able to verify a 7/8 hole in a 1970 actuator?

            Will do. Thanks.

Being new at this, am I going to the wrong supplier (ecklers or paragon)? Are there strong opinions here about who to go to first, second, third?

I will say Ecklers interior paint is very good in my experience. An exact match to my green interior.

There are as many answers to your questions as there are stars (well maybe Corvettes). Each has his own favorite supplier. Depends on what you are planning to do with the car. If it is getting a Top Flight
