correct water pump bolt for my 68, have checked paragon etc..

I installed the water pump the other day and had 3 of the 4 original bolts one wasn't original it lacked the TR head mark and was a tad longer...someone had put a washer on it to make up the difference lol.

anyway I checked paragon etc..their bolts say TR but don't look exactly like the originals...their 3 lines on theirs that come off the TR markings look "fat" and not like the originals...maybe it's just the picture on the net that makes it look that way?

anyway does anyone know where I can get 1 exact bolt instead of buying a kit that probably isn't exact or a bolt that isn't exact?

    this is on a 427 l36

    thanks

    Brandon,

Which location was the bolt? And what headmark?

I know of a very original 72 big block (<1000 miles) that had washers under bolts to "take up the slack." I would not guarantee that it wasn't done just to get the engine shipped.

this bolt was on the bottom right side (if you're sitting in the car the right side) can't make out the head marking but the collar on it without threads was longer than the others which made it need the washer.

head shape and all looks like the others

Ebay, look for John Messinger or Cappysparts. Just search Corvette Bolts.

            Brandon:
Call Richard Fortier (his number is in the Driveline). I have been to his shop and he has a huge collection of original fasteners and I' m sure he could find what you need.
