    Marty:
This product has been out for a long time and I have used it on exactly what you want to use it on. I have redone several jack covers (storage box), rear window storage tray, etc. and it is a great product. I buy it from a wooworker supply store (Rockler's) locally. It is available all seperatey- the glue, the flocking material, the flocking sprayer and is very reasonably priced. It has been used to make jewelry boxes and silverware trays and boxes. I didn't notice the price from Eastwood and I don't know what the current price of the product is from the local store so I can't advise on that. The company that makes the stufff is Don-Jer. Very easy to use and get great results. There have been many postings on this here so check the archives for them.

        Jeffrey,
Does one need to buy the sprayer and all the other stuff?
I ask becasue if you only intend to use it once, what do you do with the left over equipment.
Can one use spray glue and just the flock and would it look OK or is it best to buy the entire setup.
Having never done it or seen it done, I really don't know what all is involved.
Can you elaborate a bit since you've obviously done it with success?
        Thanks,
        Kurt

          Kurt:
You are right that there is an investment to be made and it might not pay to do 1 item but, then again, the total cost is not that significant when compared to what we spend on most other Corvette parts and restoration supplies. There are only 3 things you need: adhesive made for the flocking, the flocking itself and the sprayer which is just 2 cardboars tubes that slide in and out to "shoot" the material onto the adhesive. I guess you could just sprinkle the flocking on without the sprayer but I never tried it that way and don't know how even it would be. Actually it doesn't have to be even since once the piece is totally covered with flocking, you let the adhesive dry overnight and then shake off the extra for re-use and only the material that hits the adhesive will remain. Don Lowe (a regular on this board) wrote an excellent article for our chapter news letter, The Vette Signal, on this very subject. It explains in detail with pictures how to restore a jack cover. I have told him he should send it in to the Restorer for national publication. In the mean time I could scan it in and email it to you if you want it.

            JEFF-

I'd be interested in that article also.

Martin, I have the article on file at home, and can/will send it to you ASAP. Please PM your email address as the photos make the file pretty big. Don't be afraid. If directions are followed closely, the job turns out beautifully.
I will send the article to the Restorer as well, with hopes that it'll help others as it did me.

I received a few PMs asking for copies. Sent them this afternoon. I will also send the article and photos to the Restorer, in hopes that it will be published for all.
