In the judging manual for 1960, it states that the valve covers for the base 230 hp engine are stamped steel, with the word Chevrolet and painted orange. The next pargraph says "Optional Engine Valve covers" are the ones with fins and the word "Corvette". Does this mean that the fin valve ocvers were an option on the base 230 engine, or is it talking about other engine sizes?

Re: '60 Valve Covers
I can't say for certain, but I think the way it should read is optional engine, valve covers. As in, alluminum valve covers on optional engines. I don't believe the alluminums were available on base engine.Tom Hendricks
