1967 Bias Ply Tires - About to Pull the Trigger - Couple Questions First

I'm about to go ahead and purchase bias ply 5/8" whitewalls for my original rally rims on my 1967 corvette. I've heard of people using a correct non-dot tire for the spare, so my question is this. What maker should I purchase for my running tires? Is it NCRS correct to have 4 Firestones on the car but a different maker non-dot in the spare compartment? Do I need to find the non-dot spare first and then match the new tires to that maker? Where do you guys find the non-dot tires to put on the spare? Thanks.

The tires that will judge the best are the Kelsey Goodyears. Very minor variations from original. The current Firestone repros differ quite a bit from the original tires.

Kurt, I've seen them in the Ecklers catalog. I think the tires were red line, if I'm not mistaken. Bill

The spare and the road tires are judged separately on their own merit; the road tires have to match each other, but the spare doesn't have to match the road tires.
