    C-1 canister filters

There's been lots of dicussion lately on the C-1 oil filter canister but I would like to get feedback on related issue, the cartridge filter.

Years ago, I purchased a box of filter cartridges, some AC and some Fram to the fit the C-1 canister. Does anyone have opinion that the age of these filters could be a problem? In other words, is possible that the filters have broken down over the years and would allow filter particles to contaminate the oil?

Suppose I could contact the manufacturers, but any members experiences or knowledge would be appreciated.

        Roy,

Of the three pictures of the oil filters in your response, which one would be the oldest of the group? I am curious how they changed the colors and graphics over the years. I have a few on a shelf in my garage for decoration. I use new ones on my car.
