C-1 Engine Questions

Hi, I have a 1961 car and I am painting my engine and compartment and have a few questions on different parts and their correct paint color (or left metal):

1. Oil flow tube
2. Fuel pump plate
3. Fan shroud hardware
4. Fan hardware
5. Generator brace bolt and nut

I also had my male and female hood locks done in gold cad. Should the hood support also be gold cad or metal?

what year c-1? if its a 53-57, gold cad not correct.mike

jeff, i would paint the oil fill tube that greenish silver unless its a cast iron intake then maybe semi gloss black, fuel pump plate and bolts would be orange, shroud and fan hardware silver cad, gen brace semi gloss black, hardware natural/ cad, hood hold up silver cad, the latches mostly get blacked out so color really don't matter although the originals i have are silver cad, good luck, cary

Thanks for the response. I had gold cad plated my hood hinges and male/female locks based on what is listed in the NCRS Tech Manual (page 74). But having them a gold cad color and the support a sliver cad color seemed wrong to me.

C-1 Engine Questions

I suggest fuel pump "adaptor plate" and bolts will not be painted as they, and the fuel pump, were not installed until St Louis car assembly.
