1972-1977 Engine Rebuild Question

After reading Duke's post about building the insides of old engines to give them more performance and the factory look. I am going to rebuild one of my cars engines, a 1976 L-82, and want to know if someone has a proven "recipe" to get me into the above 300HP league from the 210 factory set up while looking factory. I have a 4 speed too if that makes any difference. Any advice or direction would be great.
