    1971 454 PCV Valve

There seems to be a discrepancy between the owners manual and the judging guide on the PCV valve. THe owners manual says 746 for a 454 engine and the guide says 736 for a 454. My car has A/C. I was wondering which is correct. Thanks! Jim

I have a AC PCV book and it has a CV736C for all 1971 454's except the 465 hp that is a CV746C.
    Hope that helps.

There was no 465 hp engine for 1971 (or for any other year, either for Corvette or any other Chevrolet model). However, all 1971 Corvettes used the AC 736C PCV valve except LS-6 454 and LT-1. Those applications used the AC 746C.

Joe I know there is not a 465 hp 454 in 71 but that is what is printed in this AC book of PCV listings. LOL
This book has a print date of 1981.

I don't doubt, at all, that's what's in the AC catalog. I don't know where they came up with that number, though. At first I thought it might be a "carryover" from the 1970 LS-6 (used in Chevelles but not Corvettes) but that engine was rated at 460 hp. It did use the AC 746C PCV valve, though.
