    Wiper door trim fit

I need a close up of how well the corners fit at the top of the fenders on the small trim piece. Is their any thing on the outside corners of the small trim piece where it meets the windshield trim like a seal? I have an extra center trim piece that goes from fender to fender at the windshield that is all chromed. Was this ever used in production? I'm still fitting parts before paint.

Lyle, I'll get you some pictures later in the week.

The chrome trim piece you have likely is the piece ont eh door that is up against the windshield. All but the top rolled edge is painted body color. I don't think there is a seal against the windshield on the small piece that is at the top of the fender.

You'll find the bottom side of the WSW door has a pair of adjusting set screws, one on the far LH side, the other on the far RH side. These screws abutted rubber pads on the windshield surround to effect a 'stop' and control the gap between the wiper door and the windshield + adjacent garnish trim.

Now, how well factory workers adjusted those screws to achieve a 'perfect' alignment of the wiper door is anybody's guess... Things like body panel gaps were rather constantly the focus of random QA/QC job write-ups and typically went through cycles of spec vs. mfgr adherence.

There is no seal of any kind where the windshield lower reveal moldings meet the windshield side reveal moldings. There is usually a significant "gap" at this point which looks just like what one might call an ill-fitting molding.
