Does anyone have a good method for making the decals on the spare tire cover stick well? Mine just keep coming back off. Thanks.

Re: C1 Spare tire cover decals
Justin, if you look at some of the originals it looks like they used the same glue they used to put the weather strips on. Most I have seen and owned look like they have slopped a brush load on and applied the sticker with little concern for how pretty it looked. Of course over the years the majority of it around the sticker wore off, but you can still see the brush strokes.Garry Barnes #18531

Justin:
I just did this with my two stickers, which were printed on adhesive-backed paper you would use for labels. I got a can of 3M super 77 multipurpose adhesive from the hardware store, a clean baby food jar and a throw-away paint brush. I sprayed the adhesive into the jar until it was liquid on the bottom and enough for a couple of swipes with the brush on the board. Also went outside the lines, so to speak, to replicate the factory's sloppy application. Let the adhesive get real tacky (about a minute) then place the sticker on it. Mine hasn't moved or peeled. It also dries clear, but you can still see the glue outline.
