C1 water pump 55 -58?

So who can tell me when the water pump #911 was changed or was a second design having the top area boss for a outlet but not drilled .
Original WP for 55-58? dont have it bottom left pc. is it a replacement??
The reason I'm asking is that I see boss on restored Corvettes "WRONG"

Roy, I'll take a guess that it changed in '57. Isn't that when they changed the outlet from 3/8" to 1/2" also? Ted

Your talking about the side hole for the heater , I dont believe they were ever used from the factory with the top boss?

Roy, yes I was talking about the side hole. Was the 493 the only pump with the 1/2 npt on the side or did this come into play on the the 911s also? 493s came in around mid '58 if I remember correctly
