    Monza Red (974)

I need some help to be educated enough to talk with paint shops concerning painting my car back to the original color which was Monza Red. I plan on having it judged after the re-painting so I want to do the best I can here so not to lose too many points and have a car that is back to its original state.

I now reside in Houston, TX if air quality regulations are a factor.

    Is the paint available?
    Paint mfgs and code number?
    Is lacquer still available?

    Any advice?

    Hi Erv,
There have been some good threads recently about folks getting ready to paint their cars and the decisions they needed to make.
I had my 71 painted in the acrylic lacquer that's available now, in Mille Miglia Red, and am very pleased with the decision.
If you want to contact me, I'd be happy to relate my experiences.
    Regards,
    Alan

From what I understand lacquer is still available but it is not a good as the original paint. Problems have have occurred with the newer lacquers. From what I herd I dicided not to use lacquer.
