    Midyear Speed Nuts

    Hello Everyone,

Can someone please tell me the original color of most midyear speed nuts that would attach the rear brake/reverse lights and the emblems. I've seen some that are silver zinc and some that are black oxide. I'd like to get this correct.

    Thank you,
    John Osterholm

    Re: Midyear Speed Nuts

Hi John, hope all is well.
Well, since no one is anxious to jump on this, I'll shake the bushes for you.
The size and location may be the determing factor in your seeing both.
I'm on the road and can't check my inventory, so, speaking from memory, it seems like the smaller emblem speed nuts were black (dark gray) phos for the more protected locations and the larger ones for the tail lights were the zinc, more exposed to the elements. The colors may have also helped in a more expediant and accurate selection in production.
