    Glove box brushed aluminum insert

The glove box door on my 1964 has a few light scratches in the aluminum insert. They are not bad enough to replace the insert so I would like to know if there are any techniques/products to help remove them. (By the way, last year I used Jerry Fucillo's insert replacement technique on my 66, which was in terrible shape, and it worked great. Thanks Jerry.) Thanks as always.

    Curt,

Don't know of any way to take out just a few light scratches from one of those aluminum inserts. The inserts are made from big sheets which are evenly machine finished. I think if you try to just take a few little scratches out with steel wool or a fine wire brush, the area you refinished will probably stand out and look worst.

However, I see that you probably have a piece of the aluminum insert from your 66 with which to experiment with.

    Have fun
