My AIM did not come with the section covering the steering wheel. Section 9-A, B, C, or D is included. Is it supposed to be missing or should I be making a phone call.
What I want to do is remove the steering wheel from a tilt column.

For unknown reasons, the sections you refer to were omitted from the 1974 AIM. I presume that the "original" that was used to make the copies we all use today was missing them and, thus, they could not be included in the commercially available copy.

Removal of the steering wheel is pretty much the same for all 1969-76 Corvettes. So, if you have access to a copy of any other 69-76 AIM, you will have the diagrams you need. Also, a copy of the Chevrolet Service Manual will include instructions. As I've said many times before, if one is going to work on one's car, one MUST have the applicable factory service manual.

As far as the steering wheel goes, if all you want to do is to remove it WITHOUT THE HUB (i.e. to replace just the steering wheel), all you need to do is to remove the horn button (pulls off), remove the screws securing the horn contact and remove the phillips head screws securing the wheel to the hub.
