    Knock-Off Wheels (K-H D49985)

What year were the K-H D49985 Aluminum Knock-Off wheels original equipment? Are they the correct Wheels for a 1966? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions for cleaning these Aluminum Wheels or the names of those who could do a complete/quality restoration. Many Thanks!

    Best Wishes!

Optional equipment 1964-66 (I know that will get howls from some of the '63 contingent, but '63 is a "maybe late in the year" at best)

So FEW original '63 Corvettes actually got out the door with KO wheels, that the JG provides specific judging guidance...

"Judging Guidance: Assign a full deduction for wheels and wheel covers on any 1963 car so equipped."

In one 'fluke' situation (judging a UK car at LeMans) I over-rode that guidance as the meet's judging chairman. The car was a "on-off"...

It was NOT a factory production vehicle but a hand built prototype that'd been originally shipped to England to support the London Auto Show. It was built under a shop order (SO 10271) and the owner had the complete GM drawing package to support the MANY, hand build, one-of-a-kind, components that were part of this car...

But, instances like this are by FAR the exception, rather than the rule in Flight Judging where we deal primarily with factory production cars versus American Heritage candidates!

Try Bill Wilhelm, one of our members, at 505-771-2729 for KO restoration.
Did mine and it was a great job for a reasonable price.

Your wheels may or may not be correct for your car. Between the spokes could be natural or painted. Yours should be painted.

There was a set on one of the cars that we judged in Waco that Bill had worked on...Pretty Nice.
Bill said he now has the capability of repairing dings, chips and cracks as well.
