Truly a loss. I remember when our daudgter was about 8 years old. We were in Detroit for a long weekend and when Zora and Elfie met Kasey they hugged her and carried on conversations with her. Throughout the weekend Elfie hugged Kasey, and told her stories. That is truly a kind and and generous person. There is no way to thank her enough. Hope to see you later.

Guess it's an end to an era. May God bless them. They touched a lot of lives.

Truly a great loss to the Corvette family. I got to see her with Zora at Jack Cauley Chevrolet in 1999, and then later when her car sold in a Mecum auction in Kissimmee, FL at the NCRS Regional. It was yellow with a green top. Can't remember the year. Must have been a 54 or 55. I know it's been written up in Corvette magazines a lot. She had to be the Corvette owner's dream wife of all time.

Sad news indeed and the passing of an era and two wonderful people who truly embodied the love of all things Corvette.
Rest in peace Elfie and Zora , together again.

                Chuck,

Zora died in 1996, so I suspect it was earlier than 1999 that you saw him.

She was a ton of fun. My wife and I took her to supper a couple of years ago when she was our guest at the BUDS Corvette show. She could put down Martinis with the best of them !!

                          Hi Patrick,
Thanks for the correction. You're right, it had to be in the fall of 1995. I think that's when we started America's Corvette Club at Jack Cauley. How fast time flies when you're driving a '62 and having fun. Or maybe its just dementia setting in.

                            All,
Last Saturday Jay Thompson hosted a memorial service for Elfi at Verheyden's Funeral Home and subsequently a lunch at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. Though there were not many in attendance, the stories of Elfi and Zora were memorable. And, yes, many of us hoisted a martini to both Elfi and Zora's memory.

                            Regards,
                            George
