        John;

        If you are able to look with a magnifying glass, I think you will see the "B" is actually an "S". The model number of the correct carb for yours is; 3461S - then followed by the date code A3 (January 63). Later in the year and on into 1964, they changed to model series 3720S (auto) and 3721S (manual). They also added suffix letters for some later jetting revisions, typically 3720SA & 3720SB (autos) and 3721SA &3721SB (manuals). I don't recall any revision letters for your 3461S, and the only other model would have been the 3460S (auto).

        If you actually have a 3461S carb, be sure to hang onto it. They are twice as valuable as the 3720S and 3721S series models. My original 3461S was stolen by a Corvette Service Garage in 1992 in Downers Grove, Illinois. They replaced it with a damaged 3720SA (broken butterfly screws) and I replaced that one with the only available service carb, a 3721SB which I am currently using.

        Bet you didn't need to know all this, right?

          Mr. Fox, I don't think the letter B in my carb. mdl. # is a S. The carb has 3461BA3. The black book calls for a 3461S. Before I put this 3461BA# on I would like to know if its correct. NCRS burns you if its not right. I really can't locate any one to tell me what the letters mean. I know the A3 is January 1963; but the letter before the date ie: B or C or A means what.
          Thanks for the help.
          Jon

            I thought the "B" had something to do with a revision. Some mid production change? Can't remember....
