Clipping corners off rear steel spring

My original rear leaf spring broke right in half under the clamp(main leaf). It's the 9 leaf 73 small block. The spring is chamfered at the corners on the main leaf.

Dr Rebuilds is not chamfered. Is it possible just to grind off these corners to match the original?

    Steve,

You can get reproduction rear springs that are very close to the original configuration from Eaton. They have the curled ends as well as the 45 degree angles on the ends of the main spring. Here's the link.
