Are there any obvious differences between the early 68 vs. late 68-69 coffee can shaped actuators. I now the threading on the E68 is 1/4 x20 and 5/16x18 on the L68 through 69 but is there anything else? Thanks

The difference you describe is the only difference with the "coffee can" style actuators. However, very late 1969 (from ABOUT mid-October or later 1969) use the dual pie pan style actuator. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Terry:
There is one other difference between the '68 early '69 and later '69 and that is the dust boot was held in place with a small screw on each end. The boot itself was shorter and did not have the last "fold". If you pull back the boot from either end (assumng you have a current reproduction) you would see a small hole on the firewall bracket and on the rear flange of the actuater. Current repros can be modified to accurately reflect this difference. I have done this on my Oct. '68 car.
