    1967 compartment cover

I would like to see a picture of the underside of the cover. My posi and jacking instruction sticker are in the right place on the new board. My original board doesn't show where the other 2 stickers were located and the judging manual doesn't tell me either.
    Thanks.

In many cases, the reason why the JG book doesn't tell you 'exactly' where this/that label should be placed is because the answer doesn't exist...

Most of these labels/stickers were hand affixed and precisely where they were placed varied with when that car was built and who was working the line that day. Bottom line, put your replacement label where the original was that you removed.

Didn't have the original or don't remember where it was, just get it close to where that particular label is generally found and you'll be good to go. Books like MF Dobbins Corvette Fact Book series are chock full of generally good photos + consider going to an NCRS Judging Meet to see what others have done + are doing.

More specifically, the jack board came in from the supplier with its JP Stevens label affixed and workers in St. Louis applied the other labels during the car's build process. I've seen more than one original where the JP Stevens label was either fully or partially covered over by the subsequent posi/jacking labels added at St. Louis...

The original has speaker holes in it(imagine that) and I am using a repo board in my restoration. The original only has the posi label still on it but you can tell where the jacking label went right above it.

Your original board is in better shape then mine was. Mine also had the speaker holes but at some point someone turned it over and glued the carpet to the original underside. I couldn,t find much trace of the original stickers. Not enough to tell how they were mounted.

Thanks for your help. My original board has the posi sticker and jack sticker remains farther to the front of the car(upper corner drivers side). The pictures helped alot though.

                  Mike,

Here's my original 67 compartment cover:

It only had one carpet inspection sticker on it originally. But when I redid my original carpets, I found the front carpet sticker under the passenger side carpet. So I put it on the jack board next to the other one.

If you look close at the picture, all of my labels are covered in clear plastic for protection. I recently lost one point on that in judging.

Also if your jack board is warped like mine was, you can straighten it out by placing it on a concrete floor, shim it up in the right spots with wood wedges, and place weights or full paint cans in the right spots to reverse bend it. Leave it there a couple of weeks. You could wet it, but I would not wet the labels.

                    Jerry,
Interesting comparisons on our jack boards with only days apart on our build dates.

                      Rick,

Very similar, and goes to show that the carpet labels can be anyplace.

Wanna trade, mines been straightened, but is starting to warp again.
                      Only kidding, isn't history wonderful.

On mine, when I put the clear sticky-back over the labels, I put another piece of clear plastic over the labels, so that the glue didn't touch the labels. That way, I can pull the plastic and not effect the labels in place.

This is really anal NCRS stuff. See what this organization has done to me.
                      I used to be carefree.

But it's interesting, and a great hobby.
