1970 LT1 Restoration

Hello all,

I am new to the forum although I have been a NCRS member for a few years.

I am doing a frame-off restoration of my1970 conv. LT1 that I have owned for 20 years; mostly stored. I request information regarding what tires I should put on it. I would like them to attempt to conform to the judging rules to not have point reductions, if possible, but still be good driving tires.

Your suggestions would be well appreciated.

If you are interested in going for a 97 Duntov score you could use reproduction tires or originals so the points loss is small to help your final score but they are not required. To get a 94 Top flight and drive your car to the meets you could use modern tires as described in the judging reference manual for points loss which you can buy at the NCRS store and it has lots of other helpful information. Lots of owners have two sets of tires one for driving and one for judging and is the best way if you have room for them.
