I could if I was the Bowling Green Plant Manager and it was Carlisle 2007. I would have the shop install a LineLock especially for this little demonstration. My guess is that I would have been in a position to have a lot of practice before this display.

Oh, and I would have to change my name to Wil Cooksey, and get a little taller too.

Edit add: I think we have to understand that to the guys and gals who build our dream car -- it is just another car. True some of them love the car, and I know Wil is one of us in that respect, but this one is a "company" car and the guys in the shop will fix it good as new. It will be sold to a GM employee or auctioned to a GM dealer and some day someone will post on this site about a 2007 Silver Z06 originally delivered to Zone 00. And the circle will be complete.

That's an Engineering car, built specifically for the 2007 and 2008 Carlisle burnout contests, in response to Tom Wallace's inability to generate a burnout in a stock Z06 at the 2006 burnout contest (electronics wouldn't allow it). Photos below are of the same car at the 2007 contest - note completely missing RR 1/4 panel, and particularly the switch and light on the console which engages a front line-lock and prevents the electronics from intervening.

WTF! I thought we got over this after the burn outs at the Holiday Inn at Bloomington. The last year of it they set off the fire alarm in the hotel & all hell broke lose. It was lucky some one was not killed. AH yes I remember it well. That was back in the day when Corvettes were cheap we all partied way more than now.
I wonder if someone has pictures or video of it.

we were at Bloomington when the tire burn out smoke got so thick, we couldn't see from the motel's 2nd floor balcony. some idiot in a road tractor got into burn out mode in his peterbuilt. cops broke it up shortly thereafter. I think it was 1988.mike
