Where to find NOS or Near NOS 77 Spark Plug Wires?

Looking for an NOS or Original in working condition set of spark plug wires for a 77 L-48. Does anyone know who I can call?

    Thank you.

NOS wires would have had to been made prior to the mfg. date of your car- and dated accordingly. You'll be unlikely to find any in the first place and it will equally be unlikely that they would still be worth installing from a functional point of view after 31 years.

The deduct for the modern repo wires is minimal or zero, not worth the effort just for Flight Judging (IMHO).

And, if you buy a set of repro dated wires, ohm them before you install them (max. 5000 ohms per foot) and afterwards; they're VERY fragile.

If I was you, I'd get myself a set of GM #12043740, aka Delco #608T, and forget all about an "original" wire set. This, of course, assumes that you intend to actually DRIVE the car. If this is a show car ONLY, then MAYBE you might want to peruse the offerings at Corvette salvage yards for an original set.

The GM #12043740 GM lists for about 75 bucks and you should be able to get them through Delco dealers for considerably less.

What GM # is called out for 78 + years? Guess I always thought the HEI TVR suppression wires were all the same.

1978-82 use wire set GM #12043728, aka Delco #608D. Why the difference from 75-77? The 78-82 wires are shorter than 75-77. Why are they shorter? The wire support system changed during the 1977 model year and the new designed required slightly shorter wires. Actually, early 1977 used the 75-76 style system; late 77's used the 78-82 style system. The late system did not come into use, though, until very late in the model year; most 77's use the 75-76 style system.

Why did they change the wire support system? I don't know.

Most interesting...thanks Joe. Your ability to retrieve obscure detail is impressive, amazing and truly appreciated.
