I use a knife type battery disconnect switch with correct spring clamp cables on my 63. Works great. Probably not as pretty as the ones with the green knob, but it has worked well for over 25 years. Got mine from I believe "Lectric Limited" back in Chicago. I have heard some horror stories about the brand "X" knob switches; not making good contact, or not breaking contact well, that I'm glad i chose the knife type.

Looks just like mine except I do have a restoration battery. What ever works for you, no apologies necessary.
BTW, thanks for putting me on to the "venting" consideration for my AFB percolation problem. Not solved yet, but think we're getting close.
