    JOE L. - Fuel Pump Application?

    JOE-

    Can you give me the application for the following AC Fuel Pump number, it has the AC logo on the housing "neck";

    086C40769.

    It was part of the box of goodies I got from the prvious owner of my
    74 L-48. There's a "no name" pump on there now. I'm wondering if it's
    a service replacement part. THANKS.

    AC type 40769 is the fuel pump originally used for all 1970-76 Corvette small blocks, except LT-1.

      JOE-

      Thanks for the info. Now all I ve to do is mount it up this winter and check fuel pressure. I'm suspecting it's bad. I'll vacuum check the ports for a leaking diaphram but no test is better than mounting it and see if it'll produce the proper pressure. Any thoughts on the "086C" part of the number. Maybe a build date of; March 08 1976? Thanks again.

        I think the "086C" is a date code, but I don't know how to decode it.
