    Hurricane IKE

    Hurricane IKE
Was in the news a few weeks ago, most of the news converge was on Galveston Texas. But 30 miles south of me the town of Bridge City had over nine foot of salt water in it. I am aware of several classic corvettes and other antiques cars that got flooded with salt water from the gulf. Most of the corvettes are 1962 corvettes. I just wanted to make any NCRS members aware of that, and to really watch out that some of those cars will have salt water damage, so if anyone is looking or thinking about purchasing corvettes from south east Texas beware of this

    LYNDON-

Thanks for the tip and observation. Besides all the life and property lost, I also wonder how many Vettes were affected by Katrina.

Ouch! I've got to give a presentation to the emergency management directors who border the coast in South Carolina in November. In preparation, I've talked to several of the federal DHHS folks who have responded and what the conditions were as well as what they brough to the party. I focus on the medical response but would appreciate any photos that would add to the powerpoint and thanks

Tom, one of our Texas Chapter members is a Corp of Engineers manager on Galveston Island and his wife works for the City Maintenance organization. Send me an e-mail if you want their contact information. Both were designated "essential" personnel and stayed through the storm. Gary....
