    Gauge restoration by Vette Instruments

Am considering using Vette Instruments Medina, Tn. to do my gauge restoration. Have any one used Vette Instrument/Jason Oliver? If so what was the quality of work/restoration/timeliness? Appreciate your help.

    Mike,
If I could recommend another Gauge Restoration shop that is extremely good.
His work results are second to none, quality is superb. Very happy with his work.

Give Bill Harrison a call (561)676-3099
or email him (see 'Contact Us' in below link)

    He owns and operates

I have used corvetteinstrumentservices in the past for my C1 gauge restoration service, BUT turn around time was EXTREMELY long. Has anyone used either of the following who advertise in NCRS: Joe Ray Parts Co. or Classic Gauge Solutions or any others for that matter? Feedback please/recomendations. Thanks David Virgin

I have used Jason on 3 different projects. The first time he was extremely slow turning around tha gauges. Then he said he shipped them but I never received them. When I asked for the tracking number, he double talked and then claimed that I must have given him an incorrect address. I received the gauges a few weeks later. I gave Jason the benefit of the doubt.

The second time I used him I had a similar experience with timeliness. He indicated that he shipped me the gauges but it took almost 3 weeks for me to get them and everytime I asked for a trackingnumber I got double talk. Jason appologized for the delay and indicated that he had some personal problems to deal with. I again gave Jason the benefit of the doubt.

The last time I got the same treatment and double talk and concluded that this is just Jason's way of doing business. I got so frustrated that I now restore the gauges myself. It takes me forever to do but at least I know where the gauges are. Jason came highly recommended on another forum and folks made a bunch of excuses for his lack of timely work. The reality is that Jason isn't very reliable IMHO.

Both midyear clocks that Jason restored 1 year ago have stopped working. Guess I'll learn to do those as well.

I've used Joe Ray previously and had excellent results and quick turnaround. I would not hesitate to use him again and recommend him highly.

on these long turn around times my question would be do these guys do the restoration themselves or do they ship them to someone else ????

Joe Ray did a 63 panel for me. Very quick turn around excellent job. Looked brand new when I got it back. Front and back. That's who I would use again if I have another instrument panel to do. My first panel for my 65 I used a different restoration service because I didn't know Joe did this type of work. So I have at least something to compare his too.
