'65 early '66 seat belt cover

Good day all. Am ready to install the new covers on my early production '66 (male side). What is the "trick" to getting the old belt slid out of the original cover? Certainly the belt wasn't slide throught the cover then the buckle was sewn into place.....was it?. If that's not enough, what entails getting the belt and buckle back through the new cover? Thanks for the help. OBTW....watch out for that seat belt retractor....just about took my knuckle off.....ouch!

    Mike, nuttin to it!

    1. Heat up plastic cover with heat gun or hot water.
    2. Pull anchor down and out of original cover
    3. Now, attach large wire tie through hole in anchor. and using the wire tie pull the anchor back through the cover starting with the pointed side of the anchor (180* to installed orientation). Anchor will expand the cover at it is pulled through. Some WD40 or soap will aid the delivery process.
    4. Send your original undamaged covers to me !!!!!

Some of the replacement covers are painted. There may be a couple of colors where the plastic is the correct color throughout like the originals instead of being recoated. If they are recoated, you will likley damage the coating during this process since the coating can't expand as much as the plastic or at least that was my experience with covers purchased from one of the major Corvette suppliers.
