I just found a 66 Roadster. Nassau blue with white top and white leather. 350 Hp, four speed with power windows, soft top only and tele column. Hubcap car that has been sitting outside under a tarp with the windows down for at least a year. Tank is full of crappy gas. Supposed to run but has transmission problem. Nose has been repaired poorly and has a wavy 1/2" to 3/4" gap in front of the hood. Looks like Maaco paint over original. Hurst shifter. Carpet has standing water and rodents living behind the seats. Correct intake and valve covers but missing shielding. Supposed to be matching number motor but have not confirmed. I am assuming it needs brakes, radiator, transmission, clutch, u-joints and probably trailing arms and exhaust. No power steering or brakes. Problem with one of the power windows and possibly some wiring issues under dash as I could see loose taped harness hanging from cluster. Any ideas on what I should offer?

Re: Barn Find! 66 Roadster - What's it worth?
Here's a starting point from the on line NADA guide; you need deduct for all the significant repairs costs.
1966 Chevrolet Corvette 2 Door Convertible</SPAN>

4 Speed Transmission
$1,150
Corvette Leather Interior
$1,000
TOTAL PRICE
$50,850
Low Retail Value
This vehicle would be in mechanically functional condition, needing only minor reconditioning. The exterior paint, trim, and interior would show normal wear, needing only minor reconditioning. May also be a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration. Most usable "as-is".
Some of the vehicles in this publication could be considered "Daily Drivers" and are not valued as a classic vehicle. When determining a value for a daily driver, it is recommended that the subscriber use the low retail value.
Note: This value does not represent a "parts car".- Top

My advice is to sit in the car and check the frame from your wallet to the rear of the car. Following that try to have an NCRS member look at the car. Two heads are always better than one.
