    Need correct carb numbers

    Hey folks..just had a guy call me to ask what the correct crabs were for an oval port manifold with 3X2's. Manifold # 3937795 which I believe is a late 68 or early 69 part number. Can you give me the correct numbers for the 3 carbs? Also some clue as to what it is worth with the linkage and no air cleaner? Thanks

    The GM #3937795 manifold was used for both 1968 and 1969. However, the carbs are different. 1968 used Holley R4055A or R4055-1A for center carb for manual trans and R4056A or R4056-1A for center carb for auto trans. 1969 used only the R4055-1A or the R4056-1A for center carb, depending on transmission. Front and rear carbs were R3569A for both years and either transmission type.

    I do not know value.

        Chris / Joe --- not sure about the 'A' stamping, though. I thought this suffix letter was just a catalog reference, and not used on the carb itself.

        Here's the center and rear (front same date as rear, in my case) off a late 1969 car with the '795' tripower manifold, and 4-speed.

          Thanks Wayne.......I assume the 951 is the date code. How does it break down?

            9 = year (69)
            5 = month (may)
            1 = week of month (1st)

              Chris -- further to Joel's brakedown of the date code, notice that the center carb was assembled 3 months later (981). Don't think I've ever seen outboard carbs with dates later than the center unit (although I haven't examined many) .
