Original Late 1965 Seat Belts With No Labels

I recently removed a pair of original seat belts from a 1965 Corvette #194375S111243 (Early March), upon close examination there are absolutely no traces of labels ever being sewn on them. I would like to know if anyone else has ever come across this condition before and if so is it a consecutive # car to this one?

My May 65 car has it's original belts and has all of the labels. Interestingly, they are dated '64 which is not uncommon even for late 65. So they were still using some older stock even through late '65. I would suspect that your belts have been replaced at some point.

That would known as a violation of a Federal Safety Regulation and the inspector who missed checking it would be on the way out the door.....

My 65 was produced in early April. It also has the 64 date on the seat belt labels.

Hi Don, Thank you for your response, I purchased this car from the second owner, he has owned this car since Oct. 1971 and he states these are the belts that were in the car when he purchased it, the first owner was a young lady at the time. I'm 99% sure these are original belts judging by the condition, the 1% is for never say never.

Then St. Louis wasn't the only Chevy production plant with a 'QA/QC problem' because I've seen quite a few 1965 passenger cars built in this time frame (Feb-May of '65) with seat belts having '64 dated labels on them....
