    C2 "Survivor" Alignment

I am preparing to have my 66 BB Coupe aligned and as it is a survivor chassis - I want to use original rear trailing shims in the event I need to alter the existing configuration. The vendors seem only to offer slotted and/or stainless steel. Do you know of suppliers that reproduce these as original ie non slotted in plain steel?

    I believe the sizes are 1/4, 1/8, 1/32 and 1/64 shims.

Also - If anyone knows a restoration shop or fellow member that has an inventory of the old stuff - used or NOS - pls let me know.

I think Bairs has the original style shims. I don't have their web site address but you could try a google search.

The 'survivor' (Bowtie?) status of your car has no effect on what type of shim you should use.

All are replacement pieces, none of which were installed at the GM plant in St. Louis. A car (or it's parts) can only be original once.

I doubt you find an alignment shop that would even think about moving shims on your car. If you have a new restoration it is hard to get this job done when their are all new parts and the shims are sloted. Keep it the way it is if you want a survivor it's been that way a long time so why change it now.
