Drill size for rivets in 75 rear brake rotors

Anyone remember the drill bit size required to drill the rivets out of the rear brake rotors on a '75? Need to pick up a couple fresh bits today for the weekend project.
    Thanks

Get a couple of small ones for starter and then about a 3/8" should do it. Going on memory, probably a dangerous thing to do.

Here's another going by memory one I recall using a sharp chisel and a
heavy hammer and in one shot, knocking off the head of the rivit and then
using a punch to hammer the stem in. You can retrieve the rivits when you pull off the rotor. Try to turn the rotor first to make shure you have some movement. You may have to back off on the shoe adjustment.

It dont really matter as long as it is larger than the shank of the rivet. Larger ones do best because they cut more shallow.

I agree with the others on drill size; 3/8" or a little larger will work well. However, the most important thing is that you want to center punch the rivets as close to DEAD CENTER as possible to establish the center point for the drilling.

The hole size in the rotor and the axle is 5/16". I used a smaller bit for a starter. Got 7 rivets out w/ a Milwaukee platinum bit, 2 more out of another used bit, etc.
