Question about Painting C1 Rear Springs

I'm getting ready to restore my rear springs. Can anyone offer advice on this? Some specific questions I have are:
    1) What type/color of paint is used for this?
    2) Where is the clamp located on the stainess bands (top or bottom).
    3) How many crimp marks are in the clamps? I've got a banding tool that makes 3 crimp marks, so I was trying to decide if this is correct.
    4) How do you tighten the stainless straps in order to install the clamps? My banding set has a tool for tighting bands, but it is much too large for use on the springs. It is really made to tighten bands on pallets and larger items.

If anyone has a picture or two, that might shed some light for me as well.

    Thanks in advance.

    Ashley

      Ashley, spring info. Gary....
      1) What type/color of paint is used for this? Flat black or very low gloss
      2) Where is the clamp located on the stainess bands (top or bottom). send me an e-mail gchesnut@charter.net and will send you a photo - am max'd out for TDB photo posting space
      3) How many crimp marks are in the clamps? I've got a banding tool that makes 3 crimp marks, so I was trying to decide if this is correct. Sorry, never look at my originals that closely
