    1971 Quadrajet CEC connection

Hello to all! I have a 1971 and the CEC valve has never been connected. There are 2 vacuum (?) hose connections and 2 terminals on the valve. One of the wires that SHOULD be connected is green and the other is light brown. I want to hook it up but need to know what to connect where. Any help or pictures of your correct 1971 would be appreciated.

If the engine harness hasn't been 'butched' by Bubba, then the CEC electrical branch (green/brown) comes from the Y-junction of the harness at the firewall, just below the wiper motor, and runs forward along the inside of the LH valve cover to the CEC solenoid mounted on the carb. It terminates with a 2-conductor plug-in connector and there's only one way it can be installed.

The first vac line runs from the front nipple of the carb, to the CEC solenoid (inner connection). The second vac line runs from the CEC solenoid (outer connection) to the steel vac line that makes a 90-degree run around the front of the carb and terminates on the RH side of the intake manifold just to the rear of the carb. That line then connects via rubber hose to the distributor's vac advance.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and see "similar threads" for a few very nice pictures to add to the written descriptions above.

Yeh, the "connector" is not there, just the two terminal connections on the end of the wires. And the two wires ARE green and brown as you stated.

Thanks for the pic. I'll hook mine up and see what happens.
