    Vent window hinge

I have a 1966 coupe, the upper vent window hinge has become broken or the rivets came loose. Can someone tell me the procedure for taking the frame off to re-rivets again? I purchased new hinge and rivets just in case the hinge is broken.
    Thank you.

    Phil -

If it's just the rivet, you don't have to remove anything. If the half of the hinge on the vent window glass frame has separated from the frame, the vent window has to come out to weld the new half on. If the half of the hinge on the main ventilator assembly frame has separated from the frame, the entire ventilator frame assembly has to come out of the door to weld the new half on.

The "Corvette Body" section of the Chassis Service Manual has an illustrated step-by-step procedure for removing the complete ventilator assembly frame from a coupe door.
