I just got my 56 frame painted (it looks gorgeous, by the way!) and am looking at re-doing the frame stencil. I noticed some discrepancies in a couple of documents and numbers on other cars stencils and needed to ask questions.
Basically, I have three questions:
1. For the part number on the stencil of 303190-32, I've read where the last two numbers signify the level of revisions. If so, would my late 56 (Sept. 7th car) use the #32 more appropriately than say the #30 or #31 that I see as options? Does it matter one way or the other which revision number I use?
2. I saw a 57 that used a 303191-41 number but that number isn't correct in the JG. Are there more numbers that are correct than what the judging guide uses? Just curious more than anything.
3. Date. I'm trying to figure out what date is appropriate to put on my stencil. I would have thought that a July stencil date for my September car would be appropriate, but I saw a documented 57 that had a stencil date of July 12th 1956...and their VIN is 162 and mine is 4399, or 67 cars before the end of the run of 56s. With only 229 cars difference, should I push my date back to June or could I still keep a July date?
As always, thanks for any and all help!
