Gary, I can't remember the fellows name but for years the original owner of an Onyx Black '57 FI attended Bloomington with the car. The car always has a sign in the window "original owner not for sale!" Speaking with him once he told me had alot of original parts, documents, etc. Maybe someone remembers or knows the guys name.

Your thinking of John Luther who bought his black on red fuel injected 57 in May of 1957. He's been driving and racing it ever since. It's un restored with original paint, motor, fuel injection, etc. I spoke with him at Carlise (2007) where he had his car under the special display tent. I believe he's originally from Ohio and now lives in Florida. He's getting up there in years (ain't we all) but was still going strong as of last August. It was late Saturday afternoon and he had just started the 57 up and was leaving for Florida in high August heat and humidity. Hard core . I don't have contact information for John maybe some one else does. Rich

Steve and Rich, thanks. Know John Luther well and have spoken with him often over the years. Unfortunately, like a lot of original owners the only piece of paper he has in his bill of sale. Copy's in Ken Kayser's book. John's originally from Illinois if I recall correctly. Will continue looking. Gary....
