Corvette Logo Question

At some time (I think it was the into of C4) the corvette 'two-flags' logo appeared to make a right-to-left flip.

There must be some (or several) interesting stories behind this change. None of the books I've read to date even acknowledge this change.

Any corvette historians care to explain?

1984 was the first year for the C4 and the first logo that 'flipped' the checkered and chevy bowtie flags.

My uneducated guess is that the angled edge of the Chevy bowtie now would run 'with' the edge of the side of the flag it was on rather than 'against' it for artistic license, creating smoother, more symetrical lines.

Again, I am basing this on absolutely nothing but my own impressions, but it's the best I could come up with when I had thought about this in the past...

There may be an actual stated reason why, but I've never heard it.

This question has bugged me for some time and I had hoped to see a variety of theories come forward.

Maybe you and I are the only ones who even noticed.
