    Hard Top on 1960

I am restoring my 60 and have replaced all the molding and lining in the hardtop. I am now trying to put the header bar back on with the 9 screws. Everything went well until I got to the ends and there is too much space (I think) at both corners.
Has anyone had theirs apart? Can this be fixed?
    Help appreciated!

Are you talking about the header bar its self? This is a structural part that is attached to the side rails or are you talking the trim retainer? This is a flat piece of metal that is screwed onto the header bar. The two front SS moldings clip onto this piece. When I did my tops, I had a lot of difficulty getting the ends of the chrome molding to sit flat against the fiberglass in the left and right front corners. Never did get the right one to sit properly. Glass Works has a video of the adjustment of the tabs on the retainer. Apparently it's very critical to get those tabs at the correct height otherwise the SS won't sit correctly.

The retainer is fine. There is a gap between the header bar and the fiberglass top at each end. Even after the nine screws are tightened.
Other words, I can't get the top to pull up, at each curved end.
Do not believe that header bar stainless would even fit like this and probably would leak air and water.
