    '67 wiper blades and holders

Can anyone direct me to a source that offers correct wiper blades and holders for my '67? I guess I overlooked this detail and it cost me 16 points! Any help would be appreciated.

David, I purchased a pair of NOS wiper blades, and the correct, restored holders from fellow NCRS member Joe Perri, of Chicago. Very pleased with the parts, and the deal. I think Joe advertises in the driveline as "horn rebuilding". If you have any trouble finding contact information for Joe, just drop me an email, and I will track down his card for you. Ridge.

      David,

Also check with our fellow DB poster, Pete Lindahl. He's a wonderful person to deal with and he's knows what's correct and what isn't.

        David,
Pete's a GREAT guy to deal with! Since he's involved with judging he'll be sure you get what is right for your Corvette. I had Pete do all the locks, keys and ignition for my 67 and couldn't be happier. I talked to him at the National last month about a set of wipers for my 67 and he mentioned he had some. I've just been lazy about getting back to him. If you deal with Pete you won't be disappointed plus you'll pick up a good friend to boot.

So have we decided if MADE IN USA on the arms or not for 67.

Kevin, I can't speak to the judging determination, as I haven't been thru judging yet, but my holders say "Made in USA", and they are a mint restored set, off a 1967. Ridge.

              Hello;
Kevin, Keith Biggers, as past '67 team leader stated "until there is evidence to the contrary Made In USA is accepted".

Have not checked w/ Nick Culkowski.

              Hope that helps.

Re: '67 wiper blade arms and holders

Kevin - If you are talking about the wiper arms the 67 wiper arms (actually 63-67) have always had "MADE IN U.S.A." stamped on the spring cover plate on the underside of the wiper arm. If you are talking about the TRICO wiper blade holders, there has been considerable information presented on the DB and while my experience has been that the 67 TRICO wiper blade holders just had TRICO stamped on the top at the ends thru calendar year 1966 and the TRICO and MADE IN U.S.A. stamping on the top at the ends began in early calendar year 1967. Also, note Ray Gieger's comment with regards to judging and check the DB Archives. And if ANCO wiper blade holders came on the your 67 you don't have to worry about the MADE IN U.S.A. being stamped on the top because the 67 OEM ANCOs aren't stamped on the top of the holder ends. Pete

Re: '67 wiper blades and holders

I know of no source for the correct/original Trico wiper arm spring cover... Reproduction arms are 'generic' lacking the Trico emboss probably because that would require a manufacturing license from Trico to produce.

Those who 'modify' their reproduction/service replacement arms generally get the spring covers from used/original donor arms. These are parts that are HARD to dig up from scrap yard sources due to the rather unique nature of the Corvette WS wiper arm...

Its use of a cant adjusting screw on the side of the lower section of the arm dictated a different physical geometry of the upper to lower arm attachment (only a single rivet holding the two pieces together so they could swing/move relative to each other) and that aspect changed the shape of the spring cover!

                      Pete,

Yes the holders, so sounds like a Dec 66 built 67 would have no USA. I have nice USA holders only got a deduct on the rubber part I'll keep looking for a plain pair.
