    C3 Replacement shocks

Is there a $130 difference between the ACDelco and Bilstein gas shocks listed in the current Mid America catalog. The car is a 1972 base 350 convertible that will be used as weekend cruiser.

I put Bilstein's on our '72 over 15 years ago. Would not trade them for anything! Totally changed the ride of the car.

I don't have Bilsteins on the old Corvette, but I have them on ALL of the driver cars. They are the best things since sliced bread -- great shocks. I love them. If you have an old set of AC Delco shocks, keep them for judging.

I kind of think the new Corvette has Bilsteins on it, but I haven't had a chance to look yet.

Tip: the Bilsteins can be painted shock gray and will appear just about as close to the original shocks as the current Delco shocks. The current Delco shocks are not manufactured by GM or Delco and have nothing to identify them as Delco other than the labels (which are removed, anyway, when the shocks are painted).

Actually, the end crimp on the Bilstein shocks is a little closer to the original configuration than the current Delco.

The Delco shocks are still the best value, but the Bilsteins will perform better and can be painted to resemble the originals.

Thank you all for your responses, I'll go with the bilstein.
