66 battery cable numbers

I have a 66 with the L72 option w/o a/c that I'm getting ready for flight judging. The judging manual calls for battery cables with Pos. #6286188 & Neg. #2981079. However the AIM calls for Pos. #6286182 & Neg. #2979821 for the L72 option which is what Lectric limited sells. Will I lose points with these cables?? Thanks for your guidance!

I have to guess that the 6286188 positive cable shown in the JG is a misprint. Pretty sure it should be 6286182. No 188 cable is listed anywhere in the AIM.

For the negative cable, big blocks in early 66 used the same cable as small blocks. On 20 Jan 1966, the part number/cable changed in the AIM to the 2979821.
If your car was assembled at least a few weeks after that date, I would go with the 821.

Bring the L72 battery/cables AIM page with you to the judging event.

The 3rd edition '67 JG had the same error, which was corrected in the 4th Edition.
