    Congrats on achieving good replating results. I have found on a number of replating examples that the process may bring out some/any porosity problems in the welds that show up a few years later in the form of rust breaking through the chrome at the joint. I have two on my 63 with that, and have met a few others with similar problems. I'm sure yours will be fine as it is probably just poor preparation, i.e. I believe they have to check and perhaps clean up or redo the welds before beginning the plating process. You might want to ask your vendor if he did that or at least checked them. It seems to be something that takes a little time before it becomes evident.

        Stan;

        Far be it from me to throw water on the fire, I'm sure they are great and you are very pleased with them. I just wanted to make you aware of some of the things us old timers have experienced over the years.

        May I inquire as to what the insides look like? Did they clean them, and perhaps plate them or paint them? Mine were left natural which may have contributed to why they showed rust in the weld joints years later.
